Families and athletes be honest and update me how hard you want to be pushed. Pitch counts arms and things health important. I have a lot of patients. These players are like 9,10,11. But I want to coach everyone to their strengths in learning.

Safety. Head on a swivel. work on being aware at all times!!

Third

Catch, learn the importance of catching the ball at any level! Move and catch the ball, throw the ball with accuracy.

Fourth

Contact put the ball in play and hustle. It's hard to field hard hit balls on any field

-> No such thing as an Error in triple A. Putting any ball in play can make a reasonably hard play for any player at this age. Reward hitter for hand eye coordination and hustle. Stats will be kept - released to the team on this website

Fifth

Play loose, play for fun, swing hard, try things also know you might fail but totally fine at this point if trying something. Try things early and often. Learn calculated risk of trying things. I.E. the time to experiment with your abilities, wonders, questions, and the time to play with what you know. (Don’t try anything crazy in game 1 of the world series!! Unless it is well calculated - both risk and success outcomes.) (game 7 well hec anything goes).

Sixth

Learn how to make adjustments. Okay last ab you swung hard but you swung over 3 pitches and didn’t swing under 1. Make an adjustment!

Seventh

Throw strikes. It is hard to square up a round ball with a round bat. You will be rewarded for strikes no matter how hard or where you throw them at a lot of levels until good highschool. Location will always have more leverage then velocity from a hitter perspective.

Eighth

Positivity - except mistakes and move on - from player coaches and umpires

*Discuss, look at all sides, encourage, cheer, try to stay engaged, if you want to keep score sure (Mainly talking to players but parents also)

Nineth

I care what we do, not what the other team does. I only care if we put the ball in play, I care if we throw strikes, play catch, make clutch plays, are smart
